Trends in Cancer Research: Career Journeys and Opportunities

The Ottawa Chapter of the Science to Business Network (S2BN) in collaboration with the CCRC is hosting a panel discussion and networking event to provide graduate-level scientists and trainees attending the 2019 CCRC an opportunity to better understand career opportunities in cancer research.

The S2BN is a national Canadian non-profit organization founded in 2011 that aims to connect academics, researchers, government and industry to enhance the innovation ecosystem in Canada and provide opportunities for professional development for graduate-level scientists and highly qualified personnel.

The objectives of the panel discussion are to:

  • Provide an overview of the Canadian trends and current issues around cancer research
  • Discuss the career paths of a panel of professionals working in industry, government, and academia

Event Objective: To provide trainees and high-qualified personnel an opportunity to better understand the broad range of career opportunities in cancer research.

Format: One hour panel discussion with Dr. Elizabeth Douville, AmorChem, Dr. Marni Williams, ShiftHealth, Ken LawlessEpitope Capital Corp., Dr. Betty ZouCanadian Cancer Society, and Dr. Abigail MateoCanadian Cancer Society who will provide an overview of their career journeys with Dr. Sara Urowitz, Canadian Cancer Research Alliance, as the moderator posing questions and facilitating questions from the audience.
